So we had an awesome time camping with our great friends--the Parrys and the Jarvises. Together the 3 of us couples have 15 kids--we all have 5 kids. The kids all get along great--most of the time!! :) These are all 15 of the kids. Amazing we could get them all in a photo at once but we did it!

Jonathan got lots of fun things for his 4th birthday. He really loves guns so he got a toy shotgun and a cap gun. He also got some sidewalk chalk, bubbles, a water sprinkler to run through and some movies.

Jonathan had a FUN Toy Story birthday party with 5 of his cute little friends from the neighborhood.

cubscout pinewood derby 2010

Jordan and Logan both did very well at the cubscout pinewood derby this year. Jordan placed first for the entire pack and also first place for his den. Logan received 2nd place for his den and 4th place overall!! They were excited! Jordan also received his Arrow of Light award that night. What a great birthday for him!!

The Dowell Family--our first family picture since Alyssa was born. Life is so crazy that it takes 2 1/2 wks. to even get a family picture.

We had a great 4th of July this year. Erika's mom was able to be out here with us and celebrate. We hung out at our house all day and enjoyed really great food and then went up on the hill behind our neighborhood that overlooks the whole valley and watched fireworks.

Our new baby girl arrived on June 16th at 11:26 pm. She weighed 8 lbs and was 19 inches long. I had my membranes stripped earlier that day around 11:15 am and was 4+cm/70%/-2 station. I then came home and went for a walk for about 30 min. A few hrs. later, the contractions started to become more regular and more intense so I called Gary and told him to come home from work so that we could go to the hospital. We arrived at the hospital around 4:45 pm and I was 5+cm/80%/-2. I then got my epidural and thought that I would deliver a lot faster than I did. I almost had an emergency c-section because the cord got pinched for awhile. Fortunately though everything worked out and I delivered her at 11:26 with no problems. She is such a beautiful sweet baby girl and our family loves her sooo much. We are glad she is here safe and sound.

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Yes, it is official. We had our ultrasound yesterday and the new baby is a girl. We are all very excited about that. I think it is good to balance out the family a little more. Everything looked normal on the ultrasound so that is the best news of all, of course. We now have the great task of agreeing on a girl's name for this baby. Gary and I do not always agree on girl's names so this could be an interesting challenge.

Christmas Morning 2008

As you can tell, we are definitely having a white Christmas here in Utah. There is at least a foot of snow in our yard and there is snow coming down in the picture. It is supposed to snow all day today and into tomorrow. Another 7-14 inches. Gary is really getting tired of shoveling the driveway.

Emily's Polar Express Party at School

Emily had a Polar Express Christmas Party at school. They had a visit from Santa, frosted sugar cookies, played musical chairs, wrapped a gift for mom and dad, made necklaces (which is what Emily is doing in this picture) and their teacher read them the Polar Express story in this big train she made out of construction paper.

This is the big Polar Express train that Emily's teacher made for the class to sit in while she read them the story and they drank hot chocolate in there as well. She had it decorated with Christmas lights on the inside as you can see in this picture.

Here are the kids getting ready to follow Miss Gurney into the train car for the story and hot chocolate. It really was one of the funnest parties I have ever helped with for the kid's school parties.

Halloween 2008

Logan dressed as a Clone Trooper from Star Wars. He lost his mask to this costume at school that day, but luckily, Gary was able to find another similar one at Partyland so that he could have one that night while trick-or-treating.

Emily was a cheerleader which fits her personality perfectly.

Jonathan was Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. He loves that movie right now so he really enjoyed being Buzz. I think he makes a really cute Buzz Lightyear.

All four of the kids dressed in their costumes on the morning of Halloween. They had a fun day at school with the parade and parties. They then had a fun evening of trick or treating through the neighborhood. We did get rained on a little bit though, but they did not seem to mind a bit.

So my husband and I are total BYU fans and it is definitely rubbing off on the kids. They all love the BYU cougars. Here they are wearing their BYU sweatshirts to show their cougar pride. The Cougars did great this year 10-2. Even though they did not beat the Utes, we still love them!!

Look at this huge thing. Gary called me at work on Friday night to tell me that Jonathan had tripped and fell and had a huge knot on his forehead. I told him to just keep an eye on it and if he started acting weird to call me back and let me know. I told Gary to keep him up for awhile to make sure that he was okay. Needless to say he was totally fine. He ran around and played all evening. We were both kind of worried about him though through the night. I called Gary to check on him later in the night and I checked on him when I got home in the morning. We are probably paranoid but look at this thing. Gary says it was even bigger in real life.

Emily Starts Kindergarten

Emily started kindergarten a few weeks ago. She is really enjoying school so far. She gets up excited each morning and loves to show off her school papers when she gets home. The boys are not quite as excited to start back to school, but they are doing well. Jordan has even more homework this year and several big projects to do. Of course, I am so thrilled about that. I know who will have to push to get those projects and homework done. Each of the kids have great teachers this year. We love their school!! Of course, it has been kind of nice for me to get back into the school year as well. After coming home from dropping the kids off, Jonathan and I go for a walk. Then I still have some time to get some things accomplished that are much easier to accomplish with one kid versus four. :) Anyway, we are excited for a great new school year.

Trip to Arkansas

So we finally made the long trip to Arkansas again. Wow!! I always forget just how long that drive is until we do it again. The kids were really good though. I am grateful for that. We had a great time visiting with family and friends that we have not seen for awhile. The weather there was absolutely miserable though. It was like 100 degrees straight temperature almost everyday and then when you factored in the 95% humidity, it felt like about 115 degrees even though I am sure that it was not really quite that hot. For those who know how hot natured I am, I did not do too well back there. I felt like I was sweating indoors, in the swimming pool, etc. I do not know how I ever survived back there. Also, the bugs back there are everywhere. They are just flying around everywhere you look. The kids went outside to play at my sister-in-law's house and got several HUGE mosquito bites on their legs and faces. Of course I did not think to put on bug spray because bugs are not something I even think about anymore. Utah just does not have any bugs and I think that is a wonderful thing.

The time went by pretty fast. We swam a lot at my parent's house and we went bowling one night with some of Gary's family. We mostly just hung out with family members and enjoyed visiting with them. It was very good to get back to our own home and our usual routine though. Thank you all of you who made us feel welcome in your homes, cooked us delicious meals and helped us to have a fabulous vacation. We love you guys!!

Logan turned 7 years old today and he wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese's for his birthday. All of the kids had a blast playing there and eating pizza. Afterwards, we went to Toys R Us so that he could pick out some birthday presents with his birthday money. He bought a razor scooter, Batman legos, Pirates of the Carribbean legos, and a Wii Pokemon game. Here he is blowing out the candles on his Indiana Jones birthday cake. He had a great birthday!!
Jonathan loved riding on this car with Chuck E Cheese. He just kept hugging him and playing with his face. It was really cute. I think it was one of his favorite rides at Chuck E Cheese.

The Lazy Days of Summer..........

My four kids having fun on a lazy summer day. I truly do love these long hot summer days when the kids are out of school and we can just do whatever we want all day. We have had lots of fun just sleeping in, watching movies, going shopping, staying up late, swimming, reading, etc. These are days I will probably treasure forever--when they are all so young, sweet and fun.

Cub Scout Pinewood Derby

So tonight was the cub scout pinewood derby race. Jordan has been working hard on his car for a couple of weeks. Here is the finished product.

Here are some of the cars getting ready to race. Jordan's is the 4th one on the left (black one). Eighteen boys competed in the races.

We are so proud of Jordan. He won 3rd place out of 18 boys! The 1st and 2nd place winners were brothers so they must have had the same secret working for them. Jordan came in after them though. It was a really fun event!! Way to go, Jordan!!

Here is Jordan again at home with his certificate, 3rd place ribbon and the prize he won--a show case for his pinewood derby car. I am not sure what is going on with the neckerchief though :)

Jordan's 9th Birthday Party

We had a water party to celebrate Jordan's 9th birthday which is coming up this week. It was a little cool today (highs in the 60's) so we were a little worried that the kids may get too cold. But when kids have squirt guns, water balloons and water games to play, a little cool weather does not bother them a bit. They had a blast!! Jordan had 8 of his friends come to his party and I cannot deny that things were a little crazy at times, but totally worth it.

Gary is now off of work on Mondays so to celebrate his first Monday being home and the kids being out of school, we decided to drive up the Mt. Nebo loop and hike around a couple of trails. The kids had a blast!! We found this really cool lake called Maple Lake that is high up on Mt. Nebo. It was really quiet and peaceful there and the kids had a great time finding shells, looking at the fish and hiking around the lake. We also found a hiking trail and went up it as well. It was a fun day.

Today Emily graduated from preschool. My how time does fly!! It seems like we just had Logan's preschool graduation. It also seems like Jordan was just finishing up his preschool year. I am always somewhat emotional at events like this because it just makes me realize how fast my little babies are growing up. I am trying to enjoy each and every day with them while they are at each stage. Emily is very excited for kindergarten in the fall. She did have a lot of fun at preschool graduation. Her and her classmates sang songs, read books and said their parts for the program. She then had a light luncheon with her friends. And then, she had to say good-bye to her teacher and friends, some of which she will probably never see again. She realized that and was quite sad as we left. I told her that we all have friends that we have to say good-bye to at some point in our lives for various reasons. We have to move on to the next fun experience in our lives,which for her will be kindergarten. She was happier after she opened up her gift from her teacher. Candy and gifts will cheer anyone up, right?

Today was such a beautiful day outside. I really do love Utah in the springtime. Everything is so green in contrast to the snow on the mountains. We took a walk this evening to the park in our neighborhood. There were so many people out enjoying the great weather. Hopefully it will last for a few days.

Logan's Missing Tooth

Logan lost one of his top front teeth a few days ago. The tooth fairy brought him $2 for his tooth so it must have been a pretty good tooth. He was excited and scared to lose it. Hopefully, his front teeth will come in a little straighter than his big brother Jordan's did.

My New Blog

We finally bought a new computer for Christmas so I am setting up a new blog. I hope to be able to post pictures of the kids every so often for family and friends far away to view. We have been staying quite busy. Gary is in the 3rd year of the electrical apprentice program at UVSC. Only one more to go after this semester. YEA!! I am still working full time in labor and delivery. Jordan is doing great in 3rd grade. He hates doing his homework but he does well at it when he gets going on it. He just had a huge biography book report due. Logan is a great 1st grade student. He is doing so well in reading and spelling. His teacher brags on how good he is all of the time. Emily is loving preschool. She also takes dance once a week right after preschool and totally loves that as well. They are having a "Cinderella"dance recital in June. That will be fun for all of us to watch. Jonathan is growing up so fast. He is just a little toddler running around now. He is always trying to keep up with the older kids of course.
